Kayaking the Marlborough Sounds
Yesterday was kayaking in the Malborough Sounds for Tracy and me - a glorious day which we knew would be followed by the cyclone today, making its way down Aotearoa.
The water was so still and beautiful. It was a perfect day to be on the water - but like all perfect things, we knew it wouldn’t last.
Enjoying the Peace Before the Storm
Rain From Cyclone Today
Today is rain - lots of it. This is good for the garden, but we are sitting inside watching it come down and having coffee and tea.
Interconnectivity and Suffering
What does this have to do with suffering? All seemingly good things end. In this interconnected world, things that are not the best for some (us), might be great for others (the plants in our garden and the ducks wandering around our community at the moment). Of course, there is also perspective - we considered yesterday “better”, while today is also beautiful, as we watch the rain hitting the ferns in our front garden.
Interconnectivity and perspective are integral parts of insight and ending suffering for all.
May all beings know peace!
